THE FUN PART

Competitions

Synchronized skating competitions are held at the local, sectional, national, international, and world levels. National, international, and world competition are qualifying events, while local and sectional are non-qualifying. Sectional Championships are divided into two regions, Eastern and Midwestern/Pacific Coast. Teams who move on the National Championships are determined at the Sectional levels. Typically, the top 5-6 teams qualify for Nationals after the Sectional competition. Only competitive levels can qualify to move onto Nationals. From there the top 4 teams at Nationals are awarded the gold, silver, bronze, and pewter medals. Only the top two from the Junior level World Qualifier competition and Senior National competition are chosen to represent the United States at the World Championships.
